Bathroom cabinet surface, melamine veneer, sticker, paint, blister, pvc film press which good?

Feb 29, 2024

The appearance of the bathroom cabinet is varied, with different colors and textures, which often determine the subjective impression when purchasing. What determines the "appearance level" of the bathroom cabinet is not the main substrate, but the finish attached to the substrate. According to the physical characteristics and process requirements of different substrates, the use of stickers, skin, paint, blister, film pressure and other surface treatment methods, so that the bathroom cabinet has a "good skin".

1. Stickers

The standard name is melamine paper melamine impregnated film paper, is a plain color base paper or printing decorative paper impregnated with amino resin (melamine formaldehyde resin and urea formaldehyde resin) and dried to a certain degree, with a certain resin content and volatile content of adhesive paper, hot pressing can be bonded with each other or with the wood-based board substrate.

Melamine paper can be attached to the surface of multi-layer board, particle board (moisture-proof board) and MDF to form a protective film that is wear-resistant, scratch resistant, corrosion-resistant and ironing resistant. Melamine finish panels are also known as paint-free panels, which do not need to be painted and are bonded to the substrate by hot pressing.

2. Apply skin

Veneer is pasted wood veneer, pasted a layer of wood veneer on the plate. Common veneer has cherry veneer, walnut veneer, maple veneer, beech veneer, natural color, natural texture, to achieve the same look and feel as solid wood, but the price is lower than solid wood bathroom cabinet.

The leather finish can be attached to the MDF, multi-layer board, and joinery board, but it is generally not used on the particle board (particleboard). Particle board (particleboard) surface has obvious granular feeling, not smooth enough, difficult to paste, prone to cracking problems, affecting the waterproof effect.

3.Paint

The paint substrate is solid wood and MDF, and paint is sprayed on the polished solid wood and board to form a protective paint film.

In addition to the simple spray painting treatment, there is also a painting process. Painting is relatively complex steps, painting only needs to smooth the surface, spraying paint can, and baking paint needs to be on the substrate three times primer, four times top paint, each paint, need to be sent to a dust-free constant temperature oven baking. But the effect is better than spray paint, the surface is smooth, the paint film is more uniform, and the color and brightness are fuller.

4. Film press and blister

Film pressure, blister are the PVC film coated on the substrate, the final finish effect is not substantially different, and "film pressure, blister" two different names, is due to the two actual processing process is different: film pressure is the PVC film pressure covered on the plate; Blister is the use of vacuum suction PVC film on the plate.

Film pressing and blister can only be processed on the density board and multi-layer board, and the surface of the particle board is uneven and the shape is rough. Solid wood because the wood will expand and shrink, resulting in PVC film deformation and cracking.

Film pressure, suction shape variety, rich color and texture, directly cover the plate, do not need to do edge treatment, avoid the problem of edge opening. However, it is not resistant to scratching and high temperature, and a cigarette butt may damage the PVC film.
