How To Make A Led Light Mirror

Step 1: Tape the mirror first
Use tape to tape the 1.5 inch space around the mirror, making sure there is enough space to mount the frame.
Step 2: First step to sanding the mirror
Place the mirror on a towel, be sure to wear a mask and keep the mirror wet so you don't breathe in dust. Some mirrors may contain lead. The guide on the Dremer chainsaw I used was the top of a soda bottle, I punched a hole in the bottle cap and screwed the nut back on. When sanding, I used a cup of water and a towel so I could pour water on it and wipe it off. I sanded close to the tape but not onto it.
Step 3: Second step to sanding the mirror
Gently clamp a metal ruler and place it on the edge of the tape to remove the last bit of coating in a clean line. Don't forget to add some water to the glass.
Frosting the glass - I didn't show the next step, but I used a diamond coated drill bit to etch the glass and liquid etching. If you don't want to do this, you can buy a bottle of frosting glass spray.
Step 4: Weight Drop
Cut the back plate to the sides of the frame and used flat white spray paint on the back plate and inside of the frame to reflect the light.
Step 5: LED Lights
I bought the LED light strip with adhesive and had to leave room for the frame. After assembling it, I realized I should have left more room for the frame. I measured the length of the LEDs before taping them to make sure they were even the entire way through. Once that was done, I soldered them together to make one continuous strip.
Step 6: Finishing
Finally, I attached the back plate to the frame and pre-drilled the screw holes and put the screws in, and I bought an LED dimmer switch. I put a hook on the back plate so I could hang it on the wall, but my wife said to eventually get a small TV wall mount that sticks out of the wall so it can be viewed up close from different angles.
